Comar Plant Design & Manufacturing, was founded in 1987 and has subsequently been acquired by B&E International, in 2012.
Comar designs and manufactures complete static and mobile batch and continuous mix asphalt plants. In addition to this, Comar supplies numerous ancillary products and services within the asphalt industry, throughout Africa as well as Internationally. These typically comprise aggregate feed systems, recycling facilities, emission control systems and hot storage facilities. Comar also manufactures and supplies bitumen storage tanks, bitumen drum heating and decanting facilities, base coarse mixers, brooms, chip spreaders, etc.
Comar’s highly motivated R&D team constantly strives to develop and improve asphalt technologies, remaining abreast of the ever changing global market, as well as client’s requirements. Current R&D focus areas include optimised energy consumption and efficiencies, emissions control and carbon footprint optimisation, RAP ("Recycled Asphalt Pavement") feed system redesign and improvements, heat transfer models and mobile plant design optimisation.
In addition to the supply of new equipment, Comar also focuses on the optimisation and performance improvement of existing asphalt plants.
